SECRETS ‘REAL BEAUTY’ COLLECTION FOR FASHION TARGETS

Secrets has teamed with Fashion Targets Breast Cancer (FTBC) to release a limited-edition collection to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.
 
Titled Real Beauty, the collection features a pendant, earring and ring design set with black and white diamond simulants, with 25% of the proceeds from the sale of the designs being donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation as part of their 2011 FTBC campaign.
 
With approximately 14,000 woman diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia annually, Secrets director Jane Meredith said the collection epitomises the hope, confidence and support that is at the centre of breast cancer research and the FTBC campaign.
 
“Fashion is a powerful means for women to express their support and passion for a cause; this campaign combines the things that are close to our hearts and makes a strong statement about our determination to find a cure,” Ms Meredith said.
 
“When we think of fashion, we think of beauty, and so the designs celebrate the five elements of what we believe represents ‘real beauty’ in a woman’s life: confidence, love, friendship, joy and peace.”
 
Each item in the collection carries a special message, such as the ‘Circle of Life’ pendant, which symbolises the never-ending bond between loved ones, with the four black stone inserts signifying the cornerstones of a female’s life: the woman, her family, her friends and her community.
 
National Breast Cancer Foundation CEO Carole Renouf said the 2011 FTBC collection is “fun, fashionable and edgy and incorporates some of our top Australian designers, models and retailers”.
 
The campaign encourages shoppers to: ‘add to your wardrobe. You could save a life’.

“Every time you purchase an item from this exciting range, 25% of your purchase will go towards funding breast cancer research in younger women,” Ms Renouf said.
 
Founded by Ralph Lauren in 1996, FTBC has grown to become a global event supported by some of the world’s most iconic fashion labels.
 
For the 2011 Australia campaign, Secrets joins Cue, Seduce, Seafolly, Peeptoe, Cotton On and Metalicus in selling special black and white designs in stores until December 31st.
